Welcome to Lithuania!

If you are seeking to find a place on the earth that would be green and smelling of jasmine, lilac and roses, you have found it – this is Lithuania

Dear guest, we invite you to enjoy all these pleasures in our wooden mansions: “Dvarkiemis” located near Trakai, and “Bajorkiemis” located near Kaunas Lagoon. These two big mansion-houses have been rebuilt according to the principles of the wooden mansion architecture. The mansions, erected on the most picturesque sites of Lithuania, visually represent the history, culture, customs, hospitality and feasting traditions of our country. Our guests are presented with a theatrical performance of medieval knights of the Geat Duchy of Lithuania, reflecting the spirit of our glorious ancestors and the traditional way of life of servicemen and artisans in Lithuania and Western Europe of the XIV century. You will be charmed by ladies’ dances and clothes, being an important part of the medieval culture.
Our perfect hostesses will serve you the most delicious dishes, liqueurs, herb and berry brandies, while hosts will offer you some beer or home-brew.
Lithuania is a combination of a song, a dance and good mood. In a company of folklore and variety preformers and cheerful dancers, have fun together with many other guests coming from all over the world. Indeed, this is the place for everyone to have fun. The amber memory reminding a drop of the Sun is our little present for you.

Would you like on of the famoust our dishes - Cepelinai?
Try It! I believe you will like it

Cepelinai or Didžkukuliai is a Lithuanian national food. It is made from grated potatoes, usually containing ground meat, although sometimes dry cottage cheese (curd) is used instead.

The potato dish resembles a Zeppelin in its shape, and is about 10-20 cm long. The size depends on where it was made - in the western Lithuanian counties cepelinai are made bigger than in the east.

Cepelinai are boiled and served with sour cream sauce, or bits of bacon (cracklings).

Ingredients
1 kg uncooked potatoes
3 or 4 boiled potatoes
ground beef
for meatless cepelinai:

dry cottage cheese (curd) or mushrooms can be used.

Preparation:

Peel and grate raw potatoes, then squeeze out excess liquid from them through a cheesecloth. Let starch settle to the bottom of the liquid, then pour the liquid off and add the starch back to the potatoes. Peel and mash the boiled potatoes, then add them to the grated ones. Add a dash of salt and knead the mass well.

Take approximately egg-sized pieces of this mixture and form into patties. Place spoonfuls of the previously prepared filling into the center of the patties. Most often a filling is made from ground beef, dry cottage cheese or mushrooms with salt and spices. Close the patties around the filling and form them into ovoid shapes.

Place the cepelinai in a salted boiling water and cook for approximately 30 minutes. Carefully stir the pot so that cepelinai do not stick to the bottom. Cepelinai are eaten with bacon, or melted sour cream and butter sauce. This dish is very filling, and was traditionally only served for guests or during heavy work seasons.
Lithuania (Lithuanian: Lietuva), officially the Republic of Lithuania, is a country in northern Europe. Situated along the south-eastern shore of the Baltic Sea, it shares borders with Latvia to the north, Belarus to the southeast, Poland, and the Russian exclave of the Kaliningrad Oblast to the southwest.
